Adam was born in Fulham, South West London. He first found his love for acting as a teenager at Brycbox, New Malden under the guidance of Dave Lodge. He studied French, History and Eng. Lit. A'Level at Kingston Grammar School, where he was the Cultural Secretary of the Gibbon Society.
In 1982 he won a place at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He studied under George Hall, John Jones, Anthony Falkingham, David Terrence, Deborah Warner and Bardie Thomas. He studied voice with Jane Cowell and Julia Wilson-Dixon; movement with Barbara Caister and Karen Rabinovitz; and collected his British Stage Fight Certificate with Bill Hobbs. Three fabulous years! Thank you all. I will always be proud to say 'I went to Central'!
Since leaving Central in 1985, Adam has enjoyed a varied career. From Shakespeare to sitcom; from musicals to film; from light-opera to star-studded pantomime.
He has had the pleasure of working with some of the best creative talents from both sides of the Atlantic. Composers - Marc Shaiman, Henry Kreiger, Jeff Clarke, Mark Vibrans, Richard Taylor, John Du Prez; Directors - Jack O'Brien, Mark Bramble, Paul Kerryson, Roger Haines, Anthony Clarke, Clare Venables, John Howard-Davies, David Gilmore, Ian Talbot, Caroline Smith, Tim Supple, Roy Marsden, Matthew Warchus; Choreographers - Jerry Mitchell, Danny Austin, Joe Layton, Danny Daniels, Dougie Squires, Stuart Hopps, Kenn Oldfield, Liam Steel, Carole Todd; Musical Directors - Nick Skillbeck, Jae Alexander, Callum McCleod, Cathy Jayes, Peter Howard, Paul Fullard; Designers - Michael Pavelka, Robin Don, Simon Higlett, Jenny Tiramani; to name but a select few.

Always keen to tackle new projects, he has trained with the Circus Space, danced across a theatre ceiling 'like a portly Fred Astaire' (The Times), and has played charades with the late Sir Laurence Olivier.
